CARSON YOUNG

Role

Carson is one of Geografia’s two interns. He assists the team with database preparation and management, data analysis and other coding-related work.

Qualifications

• BSc (Mathematical Physics)

• Master of Data Science (expected graduation, July 2024)

Experience

Carson completed a BSc in Applied Maths and Physics at the University of Melbourne in 2021. He is currently pursuing a Master of Data Science also at the University of Melbourne. He has worked on several modelling projects during his studies, such as predicting Covid-19 spread in Melbourne.

Initially drawn to a career in mathematical research, he found greater fulfilment in the evolving field of data science. Using computational power and mathematical ideas, he hopes to uncover patterns invisible to the naked eye.

Carson started with Geografia in 2023. On the technical side, Carson has experience with Python, R, SQL and MATLAB.

He broke his computer monitor the day he joined Geografia. He claimed the dog did it.
