The State-significant Croskell Employment PSP has now been gazetted.
This is a major boost to employment land supply in Melbourne’s south-east, at a time when availability across the region is tightening.
Geografia was pleased to work alongside Echelon Planning (now Urbis) to support the PSP through a detailed commercial and industrial land needs assessment, as well as an implementation plan.

Our role focused on translating long-term employment growth into a practical, deliverable land use framework.
This involved:
– Testing regional employment forecasts
– Assessing future floorspace demand and planning within the activity centre hierarchy
– Grounding land use outcomes in private developer capacities and real market conditions
The result is a strong, evidence-based framework that helps ensure employment land is delivered when and where it’s needed.
A great outcome, and a timely reminder that planning for employment land must stay ahead of demand, not respond to it.
Well done to the Victorian Planning Authority and the broader project team on getting this across the line.
