Daniel Hernandez is Geografia’s Geospatial Analyst, managing the company’s spatial data analytics since joining in 2016, with a brief stint in the public sector in 2020 before rejoining in 2021. His role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from spatial database management and querying to network analysis and cartography. Originally from Mexico, Daniel holds an engineering degree and a Master’s in GIS from the University of Melbourne.
He possesses advanced skills in SQL, Python, and other programming languages essential for compiling, analysing, and visualising spatial data. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Daniel has also contributed to Geografia’s projects in South America. He oversees the spatial data components of key tools like Spendmapp, Movemapp, and our new population forecasting tool. Despite his past as a chef, Daniel does his best to avoid catering for Geografia events.
