Objective
To update the Shire of Dandaragan’s Growth Plan with a robust, evidence-based framework that responds to accelerated population, workforce and industry change. The objective was to quantify cumulative major-project impacts, define land and infrastructure requirements, and set a clear strategic direction to position Dandaragan as a state-significant regional growth engine.
Method
Geografia applied an integrated cumulative impact assessment method approach combining demographic modelling, major-project workforce assessment, housing and land capacity analysis, spatial GIS review, infrastructure demand forecasting, and alignment with State and local policy frameworks. This included scenario testing, Spendmapp visitor-economy analytics, and consultation with utilities and State agencies.
Solution
The study delivered a fully updated Growth Plan with population and housing forecasts, infrastructure sequencing needs, tourism and retail opportunities, and a prioritised action plan structured around land supply, energy transition, coastal resilience, social infrastructure, and economic diversification. It also established a continuous monitoring framework to support adaptive decision-making.
