We’ve completed quite a few school demand modelling projects. They perfectly match our expertise in demographics, economics and GIS. Over the years our school demand models have become increasingly complex and accurate. We now use machine learning models for this work. On this particular project, we predicted demand for new primary and secondary Catholic schools in the Newcastle region. It involved deploying existing regional population forecasts and constructing several models to estimate the propensity of school aged residents to be enrolled in Catholic schools and the likely effect of new schools on existing catchments.
