Court Demand Model

Court Services Victoria

Working with different project partners (including GHD and Cube Group), we have cleaned, compiled and analysed historical court activity data to construct a geospatial model forecasting court activity to 2031 by region and court jurisdiction. There have been three separate projects so far, each quantifying the effect of demographic and other influences on court activity and, from this informing service provision recommendations. The most recent project used machine learning to estimate demand for a new model of court facility across metropolitan Melbourne. Court service demand modelling is complex. The data can be messy, often extracted from legacy systems, and the statistical patterns are complex.
