RASV Social and Environmental Study

The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria

A social and environmental impact study into plans to revitalise the Showgrounds site of the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria. Any development can obviously have negative and positive social and environmental impacts. Development causes disruption and resource use will always negatively impact on the environment. The challenge is to find ways to minimise negative impacts and maximise any positive impacts. This study compared different development options against a standard set of potential impacts. It also looked at how these options might fare against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Australia is a signatory to these broad goals, which are a set of idealised goals for building more sustainable cities and towns across the world.
